The Westside Intervention Network (W.I.N.) is a community-driven movement dedicated to preventing violence, empowering youth, and creating lasting change across Chicago’s West Side.
As one of Chicago’s premier violence prevention ecosystem, W.I.N. unites evidence-based Bystander Intervention Training, Real-Time Technology, Youth Empowerment, and deep Community Engagement, to build scalable, safer neighborhoods. W.I.N. equips everyday people to proactively disrupt cycles of violence.
At Westside Intervention Network (W.I.N.), we believe safe communities are built on empowerment, education, and proactive care. By blending educational support with bystander intervention training, we equip residents with the tools and confidence needed to interrupt violence before it escalates.
We view violence as a public health issue—one that requires a holistic, community-centered response. By positioning community health workers at the frontline of violence prevention, we connect individuals to vital resources, mentorship, and trauma-informed support. Together, we are fostering safer neighborhoods, promoting health equity, and inspiring lasting positive change from within.
Our leadership team understands the gaps that often exist between communities and the systems designed to serve them. Through firsthand experience, professional expertise, and deep community connection, we understand what it takes to bridge those gaps, build trust, and connect individuals and families to the support and resources they need.

The Westside Intervention Network (W.I.N.) is a grassroots movement committed to protecting lives, strengthening communities, and empowering the next generation across Chicago’s West Side.
W.I.N. was founded on a simple but powerful belief: the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution. Our work is rooted in the lived experiences, leadership, and resilience of the communities we serve.
We are neighbors, mentors, professionals, parents, and advocates who understand the challenges facing our communities because we come from them. Through strategic violence prevention, community engagement, and youth development initiatives, W.I.N. mobilizes residents and partners to take an active role in protecting and uplifting our neighborhoods.
W.I.N.’s work is guided by four core pillars that focus on prevention, empowerment, and building stronger, safer communities.
W.I.N. partners with schools, faith organizations, local leaders, and service providers to build coordinated solutions that strengthen the entire community.
